How to install Java for the Ringtone Maker when using Internet Explorer
The patent pending ToneBee Ringtone Maker requires Java to run. Some computers don't have the necessary programs to run Java.
You can tell if you don't have Java installed if, when clicking on our Ringtone Maker link, the Ringtone Maker looks like the following:
If you see the above screen, you need to download and install Java on your computer before you can run the ToneBee Ringtone Maker.
Follow the steps below to download and install Java from Sun Microsystems.
-
Click on the orange Get Java Software button that appears on the screen, within the Ringtone Maker. This will open a new
window with a page from the Sun website where you can download and install Java (as in the image below). Click on the
"Free Java Download" button on this page to start downloading and installing Java for your computer.
-
In trying to install, your browser may present a warning at the top of the browser in a yellow bar that advises that:
This site might require the following Active X control: 'Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment etc.'
-
Click on this yellow bar and select "Install ActiveX Control". Once you do this, the install process will start.
-
When you see the popup prompt as in the image below, click on the "Install" button to start downloading and installing Java.
-
View the License Agreement from Sun and once you're satisfied with it, press "Accept" in the next screen. Following this
the install process will start.
Note, if you do not agree with the Sun License Agreement and wish to click on Decline instead, then Java installation
will be aborted. This also means you cannot run the Ringtone Maker on your computer, as it will not run without Java.
-
The whole process should take a few minutes, so please be patient and wait till it completes.
-
When installation is complete, you'll see a screen as in the image below. Click "Finish" which will close the window.
You now have Java on your computer and are ready to run the Ringtone Maker and start creating your own ringtones.
-
Now you may need to refresh the ToneBee ringtone maker page by clicking refresh on your browser or by clicking the
Ringtone Maker button again to reload.
This time, once you accept the certificate prompt (as explained in the
"
How to create ringtones with the ToneBee Ringtone Maker" help page), you will see a progress bar with the Java logo,
indicating Java is loading.
-
Upon fully loading the Ringtone Maker should look like in the image below:
Now you can start creating your own ringtones!
